Tips for a Safe, Enjoyable Savannah Bananas Game Day Experience

February 25, 2026

The City of Tallahassee and Florida State University police departments are working diligently to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for the thousands of visitors who are coming to enjoy the Savanah Bananas and Banana Ball on Saturday, Feb. 28. To help visitors plan their visit, information is outlined below about the game day traffic pattern around the downtown area.

Pre-Game

Fans are encouraged to use the following roadways to access parking on and around FSU’s campus.

  • From the north, use Stadium Drive for parking on the west side of Doak Campbell Stadium and Macomb or Bronough streets to Pensacola Street for parking on the east side of the stadium .
  • From the east, use Pensacola Street for the lot on the east side of the stadium and Gaines Street for lots on the west side of the stadium.
  • From the west, use Pensacola Street or Tennessee Street to Stadium Drive for lots on the west side of the stadium and Tennessee Street to Macomb Street for lots on the east side of the stadium .
  • From the south, use Lake Bradford Road.

The traffic signals along Pensacola Street between Duval Street and Chieftan Way will be set to “flash” before the game to give priority to westbound traffic headed toward Doak Campbell Stadium. Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) officers will be on post along this route three hours prior to the game. Motorists traveling through the area who are not headed to the game should expect delays due to the traffic control pattern beginning three hours before the scheduled first pitch at 7 p.m. If possible, motorists are advised to use Ocala Road and Monroe Street for north-south travel to avoid the pre-game traffic pattern approaching Doak Campbell Stadium.

Fans are advised to allow extra time for travel to ensure early arrival at the game.

On Campus Parking (SOLD OUT)

Pre-purchased on-campus parking lots are Champions Way, 1-15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25-29. Visit https://bananaball.com/tallahassee-football-2026-kbyg for a full map.

Parking lots open at 10 a.m. Please follow the parking lot directions to enter your specific lot, as several roads are closed on game day. Parking passes must be displayed on a mobile device upon entry. Screenshots will not be accepted. Each pass admits one vehicle. Re-entry is not permitted. A complimentary shuttle service will be available to pick up and drop off guests before and after the game, as indicated on the map.

If you are parking in lots 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 14 or 23, please approach the stadium from the east via Pensacola Street. If you are parking in lots 1, 2, 3, 4, please approach the stadium from the east via Gaines Street or the west from Pensacola Street. If you are parking in lots 25 or 13, the most direct route will be to take West Tennessee Street to Woodward Avenue. Motorists who do not have pre-purchased parking are encouraged to use either Tennessee Street or Lake Bradford Road to look for general parking directions using the free SeminoleSafe App (see below for more information about the app).

Lots 17 & 19 will be available to FSU fans planning to visit any of the FSU sporting events on Saturday, Feb. 28. Lot 11 will be held for baseball parking pass holders for the FSU baseball game and then will become available for the general public.

For further assistance navigating the area, fans can download the Waze Traffic App via SeminoleSafe. All game day traffic routes, pregame and postgame, are entered into the app to provide the most direct routes, taking into consideration detours, closures and congestion.

Accessible Parking (SOLD OUT)

On-campus accessible parking is sold out. Parking is located on the lower level of parking garage 9 as indicated on the map. A complimentary shuttle service will be available before, during and after the game for drop-off and pick-up between Lot 9 and the stadium at Gates D and H.

Park & Ride

For fans who were unable to pre-purchase parking on FSU’s campus, off-site parking will be available at parking garage 1 at Bragg Memorial Stadium on FAMU’s campus. Fans can park offsite in the garage and enjoy a short ride to the stadium. The cost per rider is $7.50 if purchased before Friday at 5 p.m. Day-of purchases will be $10 per rider. The address for the parking garage is 1546 Althea Gibson Way. The drop-off/pick-up site at Doak Campbell Stadium is at the intersection of Hendry Street and Stadium Drive.

Ride Share
There are two designated ride share drop-off and pick-up locations, both indicated on the map.

Lot 17: 355 Stadium Drive

Bank of America: 803 Lake Bradford Rd.

Flex Tram

Seminole Boosters will provide Event Day Courtesy Carts for those who need assistance getting to the stadium from their assigned lot. Event Day Courtesy Carts will be available throughout the day and will stop at designated pickup locations periodically for fans to utilize. These carts will run from 2-11 p.m.

Post-Game

After the game is finished, Pensacola Street east of the stadium will be modified to flow one-way for eastbound traffic only, heading away from the stadium.

  • Traffic signals along Pensacola Street from Champions Ways to Duval Street will “flash” to give priority to traffic heading eastbound.
  • St. Augustine Street between Varsity Drive and South Monroe Street will continue to flow one-way for eastbound traffic only and continue out Apalachee Parkway, helping to carry additional traffic away from the stadium.
  • There will be a detour established to keep fans leaving the game on Madison Street flowing continuously out to Apalachee Parkway.
  • Southbound traffic on Monroe Street will be routed east on College Avenue, south on Franklin Blvd./East Lafayette Street and west on Gaines Street back to Monroe Street.
  • Northbound traffic on Monroe Street will be routed east on Gaines Street, north on East Lafayette Street/Franklin Blvd. and west on College Avenue back to Monroe Street.
  • Fans heading away from the stadium on Gaines Street eastbound will be directed south onto Monroe Street.

To give fans priority in leaving the area following the game, northbound traffic will not be allowed on Springhill Road/Lake Bradford Road from FAMU Way to Gaines Street, nor will southbound traffic be allowed on Stadium Drive from Tennessee Street. The one exception will be Ride Share vehicles coming to pick patrons up from the Banana Ball event. Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays due to the traffic control pattern from 9 p.m. until approximately one hour after the end of the game (weather delays not included), especially along Macomb, Copeland, Duval, Bronough and Monroe streets. Motorists hoping to avoid post-game traffic, especially north-south travel, are advised to use Ocala Road and Monroe Street.

Collaboration

The City of Tallahassee and Florida State University have participated in numerous meetings in preparation for the Savanah Bananas event on Saturday, Feb. 28. The following are several initiatives for the games:

  • TPD will provide coordination with all traffic lights along Pensacola, St. Augustine, Madison, Gaines, Stadium and Duval streets, as well as Lake Bradford Road.
  • Speed tables have been installed along Pensacola Street, St. Augustine Street and Jefferson Street to enhance pedestrian safety on and near campus.
  • A gate has been installed on the corner of Varsity Drive and St. Augustine Street for Lot 14 (Intramural Fields). This will allow for better pedestrian access.
  • More signage will be posted at multiple locations. Banners will be hung along Pensacola Street, as well as additional signs placed along all the routes.
  • TPD will be on post along Pensacola Street three hours prior to the game. TPD will also take control of the lights and intersections once all personnel are on post.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and plan for some delays. Please follow directions from law enforcement while traveling to and from the game.

SeminoleSafe App

The SeminoleSafe App is the official mobile safety tool for Florida State University. Fans can refer to the SeminoleSafe App under tab GAME DAY GUIDE for real-time updates and additional information for home football games from direct turn-by-turn directions to their designated pre-purchased or general parking lot, clear bag policy and instructions, prohibited items inside the stadium and real-time weather data on campus.

Entry Policy

Bag Policy: Under the policy, each fan is allowed one clear bag (plus clutch or small purse) into FSU home athletic events that conform to the following restrictions:
