Neighbors Invited to Learn about StarMetro Projects

Join the City of Tallahassee's StarMetro for Southside Transit Center Day on Saturday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the center's future site on the corner of Meridian Street and Orange Avenue.

Southside Transit Center Day is an opportunity for residents to learn more about StarMetro projects and provide input on the current stage of planning for the Southside Transit Center. The center will be a multi-modal transit facility and is part of the City's five-year Strategic Plan to ensure public transportation is accessible, efficient and equitable.

This event continues StarMetro's extensive community outreach related to the Southside Transit Center, through which input has been gathered for more than a year on route and facility needs, as well as the look and design of the facility itself. Once constructed, the Southside Transit Center will improve economic, educational, residential and business opportunities for the Southside and Tallahassee at large.

At the May 6 event, there will be community information tables, music by DJ Dap, prizes and face painting! Snow cones and lunch will be available for purchase.

Parking will be available at 242 E. Orange Ave. To ride a StarMetro bus to or near the event, use the Big Bend, Live Oak or Moss route.
